Questions people ask before booking
- About 560 km, nine to ten hours of driving without stops. On a 3-day tour it is split in two, with a night near the Dadès or Todra gorges, so neither day is more than about six hours on the road on the way out.
- If Fes is next on your trip, finish there: Merzouga to Fes is about 470 km, seven to eight hours, and you don't drive the same road twice. A round trip to Marrakech means one long final day, usually ten hours with stops.
- Yes for one night in the Erg Chebbi dunes with a camel ride at sunset and sunrise. With four days you can add a second night, walk the Todra Gorge or see the Drâa valley without long drives.
- Tented camps sit in the dunes a short camel ride from Merzouga. Standard camps have shared facilities; comfort camps have private tents with beds and en-suite bathrooms. Your quote names the camp and the tent type.
- October to April. Summer days in the desert regularly pass 40°C, and winter nights in the dunes can drop near freezing, so bring a warm layer from November to February.
