Overview

A private 2-day tour from Marrakech over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate and the Skoura oasis, with a night in a kasbah guesthouse so you see the ksar at sunset and sunrise without the day-trip rush.

Aït Ben Haddou is about 190 km from Marrakech, and the Tichka road makes it a 4-hour drive each way, which squeezes a day trip. Splitting it over two days lets you cross the High Atlas at an easy pace, walk the UNESCO-listed ksar (inscribed 1987) in the late afternoon light, and stay the night in a kasbah guesthouse facing it.

Day two goes east through Ouarzazate — the Taourirt Kasbah and, if you like film sets, the Atlas Studios — to the palm oasis of Skoura and the 17th-century Kasbah Amridil, once pictured on the Moroccan 50-dirham note. Skoura was affected by the September 2023 earthquake, and some kasbahs show the damage. Then back over the Atlas to Marrakech.
