Overview
A full-day day trip to the Ouzoud Falls — a 110m triple cascade in a red-rock gorge full of wild Barbary macaques — with a guided walk to the base, an optional boat trip and lunch by the water.
The Ouzoud Falls are the largest waterfall in North Africa — a triple cascade dropping 110m into a red-rock gorge colonised by wild Barbary macaques. They sit about 2.5 hours north-east of Marrakech in the Middle Atlas foothills, making a rewarding full-day excursion.
We drive up through olive groves and Berber market towns, walk down the cliff path to the base of the falls, watch the macaques play in the oleander, and stop for a riverside tagine lunch with a view of the cascade. An optional short raft trip takes you right beneath the spray. Back in Marrakech by evening.

Frequently asked
Questions about this tour.
How long is the Ouzoud Falls day trip from Marrakech?
A full day — about 2.5 hours' drive each way, with roughly 3–4 hours at the falls. Pickup is around 08:00 and you're back by about 18:00.
When are the Ouzoud Falls at their most impressive?
December through April, when the winter rains swell the river. The falls are still beautiful in summer at a lower volume. Mid-morning light before the day-trip crowds is always the most photogenic.
Are the Barbary macaques safe to be around?
They are wild and habituated to visitors but should not be fed or touched. Keep food in your bag and a respectful distance, and they're a delight to watch.
