Overview
A private day along the surf coast north of Agadir: a 2-hour beginner surf lesson at Tamraght, the village and point breaks of Taghazout about 20 km from the city, and a seafood lunch at Imsouane's fishing port.
The coast north of Agadir is Morocco's main surf area. Tamraght and Taghazout sit about 15–20 km from the city, and the point breaks between them — Anchor Point, Hash Point, Panoramas — draw surfers from October to March. Beginners learn on gentler beach breaks such as Banana Point near Tamraght.
The morning is a 2-hour lesson with a licensed surf school (board and wetsuit provided). After a walk through Taghazout village and a look at Anchor Point from the headland, we drive about an hour north to Imsouane, a small fishing port known for one of the longest right-hand waves in Africa, for a fish lunch by the harbour. If you'd rather not surf, the day works as a coast drive with beach walks and cafés.

Frequently asked
Questions about this tour.
How far is Taghazout from Agadir?
About 20 km north of the city centre — roughly 30 minutes by car. Imsouane is about another hour further north.
When is the best time to surf in Taghazout?
October to March brings the larger Atlantic swells that make the point breaks work. Beginners can learn year-round on the beach breaks, and summer is usually gentler.
Can complete beginners surf here?
Yes. Lessons take place on beginner beach breaks like Banana Point, not on Anchor Point, which is for experienced surfers. You need to be able to swim.
Is the water cold?
It is cool rather than cold — roughly 17–22°C depending on the season — so a wetsuit is used all year. The surf school provides one.
