Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Trip
A full-day private trip from Marrakech to the Cascades d'Ouzoud — North Africa's tallest waterfall, wild Barbary macaques and a riverside lunch. Out in the morning, back the same evening, just your own party.
The short answer
The Ouzoud Waterfalls day trip from Marrakech is a full-day, private excursion to the Cascades d'Ouzoud — a roughly 110-metre triple cascade in a red-rock gorge about 150 km north-east of the city, around 2.5–3 hours' drive each way. You walk down to the base of the falls, watch the wild Barbary macaques in the gorge, and stop for a riverside lunch with an optional boat trip beneath the spray. Pickup is door-to-door from your riad and you are back in Marrakech the same evening — from $50 per person.

What you see & do
A waterfall, a gorge and wild monkeys
A full-day day trip to the Ouzoud Falls — a 110m triple cascade in a red-rock gorge full of wild Barbary macaques — with a guided walk to the base, an optional boat trip and lunch by the water.
North Africa's tallest waterfall
A triple cascade dropping roughly 110 metres into a red-rock gorge — loudest and fullest after the winter rains, with rainbows hanging in the spray on a bright day.
The walk down to the base
A guided descent on the cliff path through olive terraces to stand at the foot of the falls. The trail is rocky and sometimes wet underfoot, so grippy shoes earn their keep.
Wild Barbary macaques
The gorge is home to troops of wild, habituated macaques moving through the oleander. They are a delight to watch — but not to feed or touch.
A riverside tagine lunch
Time to slow down at a terrace café overlooking the cascade, with the option of a short raft trip across the pool to the base of the main fall.
