What we change for expecting parents

1/5 Short drives

We pick trips within about 1 h 30 of Marrakech: the Agafay at 45 minutes, the Ourika Valley at 1 h 30. Longer days can be split with a night on the way.

2/5 No bumpy rides

We leave out the camel ride, the quad and the balloon basket. On the Agafay evening we swap the camel for tea on the camp terrace.

3/5 Stops

A rest stop whenever you ask for one, and bottled water in the car.

4/5 Heat and altitude

Spring and autumn are the easiest months. We avoid the high passes and the long midday walks in summer.

5/5 Medical

We aren't medical advisers. Ask your doctor or midwife about travel at your stage, check your insurance covers it, and tell us anything we should plan around.

Details

What expecting parents ask us

Is Morocco a good place for a babymoon?

It can be, if you keep it gentle: a calm riad in Marrakech and short day trips. Ask your doctor or midwife whether travel suits your stage of pregnancy, and check that your travel insurance covers it.

Which day trips from Marrakech are gentle enough?

The Ourika Valley (1 h 30 each way, flat village walk) and the Agafay evening (45 minutes away, without the camel or quad) are the closest. A cooking class or a half-day medina tour needs no drive at all.

Can we skip the camel ride and the quad?

Yes. Tell us when you ask for your quote and we'll plan the day without them. On the Agafay trip you keep the sunset, the tea and the dinner.

What about the hot-air balloon?

We don't suggest it on a babymoon. Balloon operators set their own health and fitness rules, and you climb in and out of the basket yourself. If you still want to ask, tell us and we'll check with the operator.

How much does a babymoon trip in Morocco cost?

We don't publish prices. The cost depends on your dates, how many of you there are, the vehicle and where you sleep, so we send a fixed written quote within 24 hours of your request. There is no deposit to ask for one.
